Every provider is reviewed by a person
Before any provider can take work through SpecialistRouted, a human reviews them — no provider is matched to a request until that review is complete. We keep a record of exactly which checks were completed for each provider.
What our review covers
Our standard review of every provider covers:
- Application review — a person reads what the provider offers and how they describe their work;
- Email verification — we confirm the provider's email reaches them;
- Phone verification — we confirm the provider's phone number reaches them;
- Adult confirmation — we confirm the provider is an adult (18+).
Where it's relevant to the work, we may additionally review a provider's government ID, references, trade licenses, or insurance. When we have verified one of these for a specific provider, we say so explicitly for that provider — item by item, never as a generic “verified” badge.
What our review does not cover
Unless expressly stated for a specific provider, our review does not include criminal background checks, fingerprinting, or verification of licenses, bonds, or insurance. We will never display or imply a check we have not actually performed.
Providers are independent businesses
Providers on SpecialistRouted are independent local businesses and tradespeople, not our employees. They decide which opportunities to accept, set their own prices and schedules, and control how they do their work. SpecialistRouted identifies and recommends providers and coordinates introductions — the service agreement is directly between you and the provider. See our Terms of Service for the details.
No guarantee — and what to do if something goes wrong
A careful review is not a guarantee. We do not guarantee any provider's work, conduct, honesty, or results, and you engage a provider at your own discretion. If something goes wrong, tell us at [email protected]. A person reads every report, we take them seriously, and we may remove a provider from SpecialistRouted.
